“Cultivate your curves – they may be dangerous but they won’t be avoided.”—Mae West
One of the comments that we sometimes hear from potential glamour models is that “I’m too fat, too thin, too old, not attractive enough and don’t take a good picture.” They are all wrong! I strongly and sincerely believe that all woman are beautiful regardless of their age, ethnicity or their weight. Whenever I photograph any woman, I try to bring out the best in them, whether are a professional, aspiring or someone interested in trying modeling, just for fun.
We happen to agree with what Sophia Loren once said, “Beauty is how you feel inside and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.”
One way to enhance your comfort level is to make the glamour portrait in your home or outdoors, it, as we did with this nude portrait that was made in the model’s front yard.
On-location at home shoots can be more comfortable and convenient for the model since they’ll be in their own home with all of their make-up and wardrobe, including lingerie, nearby.
How I Made this Photograph
Today’s featured images represent two versions of the same photograph of the model. The amazing Dawn of the Rockies was photographed in her (private) front yard of her home.
For this kind of session privacy is of the utmost importance and her yard has lots of large trees and bushes shielding our photo session from view from any vehicles driving by. Dawn was photographed using only a tiny flash (for fill) but mostly the natural light outdoors.
The original image (above right) was made in direct monochrome mode using a Canon EOS 50D with an EF 85mm f.1.8 lens. The available light exposure was 1/500 sec at f/4 and ISO 200. The color image (at left) was created from the original black & white JPEG files using the Palette.FM colorization software.
If you are a plus size model or even just a plus size woman who would like to embrace the sensual side of your personality, please contact us via the Contact tab above and let’s schedule a test shoot. After the shoot, we’ll hand you a flash drive (or CD) of every photograph we make that you can use, however you like.
